Summary

According to the Chartered Institute of Practitioners in Public Relations, PR is the discipline which looks after reputation, with the aim of earning understanding and support and influencing opinion and behaviour. It is the planned and sustained effort to establish and maintain goodwill and mutual understanding between an organisation and its publics. Professional roles in Public Relations, particularly in reputation management and media relations, are continuing to grow in number and importance within an industry now worth over £9.2bn to the UK economy. On this course you will learn about how and why organisations use PR to influence and manage reputation, preparing you for a career in the field.
