Skills and experience gained

This course will give you sound practical and academic skills in research, summarising, preparing logical arguments and reports, clear thinking and powers of persuasion, problem solving and analysis. It will also allow you to develop responsibility for your own learning and an ability to initiate a research project, making you able to establish working relationships with others.

After the course

Our graduates have found employment in marketing, advertising and PR companies as account or marketing executives. Former students now work in magazine publishing, journalism, media production and research, digital media production and teaching. Many of our students work freelance, and also as copywriters or in-house press officers. Postgraduate opportunities at UoB exist in a range of MA’s in Media as well as in Business. Students can continue onto our MA in Mass Communications. Often these Masters lead to further research opportunities such as PhD.
