Skills and experience gained

Human Resource Management explores the management of a diverse workforce and of individual and corporate behaviours and cultures within a local, national and international context. Human Resource specialists need to support people working in different functional areas, so the opportunity to combine your study of Human Resource Management alongside PR is especially relevant to understanding how Human Resource practitioners work. You will explore hands-on practical aspects of Public Relations as well as gaining a comprehensive understanding of strategic aspects of reputation management, thus preparing you to make a valuable contribution to the senior management of an organisation. This course will attract employers in people-oriented industries seeking candidates who are excellent and persuasive communicators and strong team players with an evident capability to lead, inspire, motivate and empathise with others. It will also enable you develop a range of complimentary skills including creative and analytical thinking, logical decision-making, how to interpret and use management information; to manage time, projects and resources; to be self-reliant; to use initiative and to champion an ethical and socially responsible approach to business. In Year 2, you will also have the opportunity to study at one of our partner universities in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Europe.
